Biodiesel@MIT proposed the construction and management of
a solar-powered processor to convert waste vegetable oil to biodiesel.

Thank you to all the students who took the time to submit innovative and realistic ideas on how to green your college campus through the mtvU GE ecomagination Challenge. We received over one hundred applications and we were extremely impressed and encouraged by the ideas you submitted.
The top ten finalists were announced and the votes were cast. Student votes, along with input from mtvU and GE determined the winner of the $25,000 grant and an Earth Day Concert with a performance by Angels and Airwaves.
As you know, the world faces complex and mounting environmental challenges. We launched this Challenge to highlight what students at campuses across the country would accomplish when they put their minds to addressing some of the world's toughest environmental challenges.
